week’s Mondays Finish the Story challenge? This is a flash fiction challenge
where we provide you with a new photo each week, and the first sentence of a
story. Your challenge is to finish the story using 100-150 words, not
including the sentence provided. Don’t forget to use the
opening sentence… Get creative and have fun finishing the story!
Please include the photo with your
bit of flash and a link back to this post. Do not forget to click on the blue

Finish the story begins with: “Are you laughing at me?“
FREEDOM
“Are you laughing at me?”
She shook her head in dismay
When would he take her seriously?
Dismissing her thoughts so airily
He might be the big shot at his
office
But he didn’t have to be so callous.
His clothes were laundered and
pressed
She massaged his shoulders when he
was stressed
His dinner was always hot and
nourishing
She’d spend all day tidying and
cleaning
Now she wanted to go out to work
She starts work as a part-time clerk
She sees the kids off to school
Takes her turn at the car pool
She returns home by four
Quickly mops the floor
She does the laundry
Longing to be free
It won’t take long
Before she is gone
The last laugh will be on her
As she walks out of the door.

Nicely done! I thoroughly enjoyed this! Thanks for taking part in the MFtS challenge Sally. See you next week? I hope that you return. Be well... ^..^
ReplyDeleteIt definitely sounds like she's earned some time away from him, he sounds very demanding and not in the least appreciative!
ReplyDeleteSounds like he thinks he should be the boss both at work and home. He needs a change of attitude. Well done, Sally. --- Suzanne
