THE PLAY

Zeus was not having a good day and he made sure everyone knew it.”

Alice looked at Greg, coffee cup poised halfway to her mouth; she started to speak and then thought better of it.

“So, what do you think?”  Greg looked at her seemingly pleased as punch at his idea for the new amateur dramatic play he had just written.

“A few questions come to mind,” Alice said as she sipped her drink thoughtfully.

Greg went on to explain to her at length and two cups of coffee later was still expounding on his idea, that he had put out feelers for designers for the sets, the backdrops would be fantastic.  Alan had promised to research some audio clips for sound effects of thunder and lightning, George would do the lighting and it would all be fantastic.

Alice nodded at her husband and asked him the question he was dreading.

“Who is going to pay for this? We nearly went bankrupt last time.”

    1. I loved reading all the different writings for this one prompt. The different inspirations are fun and so very, very unique. Your page was my first and also I think, the most unique, good for you! The picture you drew was excellent and the prompt fit in perfectly. Not only that but the last sentence gave an ending no one expected. Such fun, flash fiction!

  3. Excellent! I don't blame her for being worried about the funds for his play since they almost went bankrupt the year before. I think with that last comment that she "rained on his parade." LOL

  4. Sally, you did so well finishing the story. Yes, who is going to pay for it indeed?

Haven't seen you on my blog for awhile, Sally. Perhaps you have never copied my new address when I changed it. I am hosting Yolanda this week, so maybe you'd like to pop over and say hello. She's been pushing this Finish the Story, which is a great idea.

  6. He sounds like a chap who gets all caught up in something and then spends a fortune trying to make it happen. It must be hard to live with someone like that. Great story!
