THE HONEYMOON

The next photo is the PHOTO PROMPT. What do you see and where do you see it?

THE HONEYMOON

Monica stretched luxuriously in the bed.  The sounds from the street below had penetrated her deep sleep, early morning coming to life.  She turned to kiss her new husband, Robert, but found an empty space.

Wrapping her satin negligee around her she peeked out of the window and smiled as the sunlight made shadows on the cobbled street below.  In the distance she could see Robert’s blond head disappearing around the corner.

She snuggled back under the feather down duvet admiring the shiny, new golden band on her left hand. She hoped their whirlwind elopement would last many, many years.

  1. I hope this isn't the last she sees of Robert. Good story.

  3. He's getting breakfast for them. I love the tone and could imagine waking up right there after my elopement. Lovely!

  4. The words "empty space...", "disappearing around the corner..", "whirlwind elopement.." seem like clues to a way different future from what she is dreaming about.....Nicely done with that hint of mystery.

  6. Romantic it is but hope they be together till death does them apart.

He must have gone out to get some flowers for her, I presume.

  8. I think Blogger does not like Wordpress, on most Blogger sites my comments fail to appear. Earlier I had said 'Nice, intriguing story'...

  9. Dear Sally,

Let's hope Robert's gone for to bring back breakfast or she might end up smashing a lamp across his blond head. ;)

    Shalom,

    Rochelle
