THE DREAM - Friday Fictioneers

PHOTO PROMPT - Copyright Ted Strutz

Here are my 100 words to go with the above photo prompt:

THE DREAM

Yes, this is it

We can do it bit by bit

Jenny’s excitement was infectious

But her husband was more cautious

Look at the electrics, that needs fixing

The building works will take us until spring

Ben was frowning, his brows knotted together

He could see months of work, stress and pressure

Jenny hugged him fiercely, can't you see my darling

This is our dream home; there will be no more slumming

No more making-do, no more next month, next year

This is it, our dreams can come true

Ben capitulated and didn’t resist

As he accepted Jenny’s sweet kiss.

  1. That was sweet! I also like the "shape" of the poem - it looks like a tree, don't know if that was intentional. :)

I keep meaning to get involved with these fiction bloghops and not getting around to it, but I could get on board with this one. I love writing flash fiction!

sorry for leaving it off. It will be great to see you here. 100 words can be challenging to say all you want to say!

  3. Very sweet. I'm guessing light bulb for the shape of the poem?
