  5. Sally, that was a great story; and I cried almost all the way through. You used an economy of words and powerful imagery to convey more than just their love. War is so evil, and you brought this sentiment out with such passion.

Thank you for participating with RFW this month. A beautiful, heartbreaking entry.

  7. Very sad indeed. That is a very touching tell done through only letters, well done. I also thought you did well with the presentation of the letters. Great entry.

  8. Beautifully presented Sally. Just loved it. There's something so poignant about letters and that was the only communication sweethearts had during those dastardly times. Bit different today with Skype, emails and mobiles. Thank you for putting so much care and thought and talent into your entry.

  11. Hi Sally. This is very creative...lovely presentation. You told the sad story so well. I felt its power and atmosphere. So many similar letters at the time and it continues today in the form of emails and Skype.

    Thank you Sally

  13. Wow, Sally,

SUCH POWER in such few words. The emotions are so real they singe the page. My heart broke for both of them.

You certainly captured each character with realism and strength. Such a sad ending. But so appropriate on this Memorial Day....

  15. I can't believe I missed your entry, my apologies. I loved how sad and poignant. So hard for love to break through the horrors of war. When love should really be enough. Well done!
